What are your catering policies?

You may hire the caterer of your choice and we can provide recommendations.  Your caterer must be a licensed and insured business that carries a minimum of $1,000,000 in General Liability insurance and is able to provide full-service staffing until the conclusion of your event.  Because of our historic status, The Morris cannot permit DIY or potluck service.

Is there parking at The Morris?

Parking for up to 100 vehicles is available in one of our four lots located next to or nearby The Morris and there is additional street parking available in Glen Elk generally.  We do suggest you arrange group transportation to keep potentially tipsy drivers from getting behind the wheel.

Why do I need special events insurance?

Special event liability coverage is required by nearly all professional event spaces, including The Morris.  It protects you from liability for accidents that may occur during an event such as a catering mishap, an injury to one of your guests, or damage caused to our facility.

Where can I get event insurance and how much do I need?

The Morris requires the purchase of Eventsured or WedSafe Event Insurance for minimum liability coverage of one million dollars ($150-$185).  From experience, we recommend that you include a cancellation policy to make sure your vendor investments are covered should you have to cancel or postpone your wedding.

Can we serve alcohol at our event?

Yes, alcohol may be served at The Morris.  We require that you utilize your catering company’s professional bartenders or hire a bartending service.  Bartenders are required to be onsite and on duty anytime alcohol is being served to your guests.

Cash bars are not allowed.  The Morris does not charge a corkage fee, nor do we oversee where you provision your alcohol.

Are there restrictions on my event décor?

Because The Morris is a historic space, we have a few restrictions on how décor may be hung or attached, but we are happy to work with you to ensure your event has the look and feel that you are after.
