Ferragosto is a major Italian holiday celebrated annually on August 15th. It combines ancient Roman harvest celebrations with the Catholic feast of the Assumption of Mary. Today, it marks the peak of the Italian summer, with locals escaping cities to relax at beaches, lakes, and mountains.
